The Meux Home was worked in 1889 by Dr. Thomas Richard Meux. Dr. Meux was conceived in 1838 in Wesley, Tennessee. He went to the University of Virginia and moved on from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School in 1860. During the Civil War he enrolled in 1861 as a private in the Ninth Tennessee Volunteer Regiment of the Confederate Army. He partook in the skirmishes of Shiloh, Murfreesboro and Atlanta. Following four years he left the administration as an associate specialist with the position of Captain.
In 1888, Dr. Thomas Richard Meux' 16-room Victorian chateau turned into a reality. It is as noteworthy today as it was over a century back. The Meux Home is a tribute to gothic Victorian design and friendliness. As our visitor, you're welcome to appreciate a guided voyage through the house, just as walk the wonderful nursery.
